Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland - Antony House, Torpoint
Tim Burton was looking for 'a perfect, pocket-sized mansion; something beautifully symmetrical, with intimate interiors, wide views and landscaped gardens'. From an initial list of 30 candidates, the hidden secret location of Antony House was selected.
The much anticipated Disney film, which blends the very latest in stop-motion technology with the more traditional on set filming, is a staggering celebration of Tim Burton's uniquely surrealist, Gothic vision. Unusually, Antony House provided the only 'real' location for the Alice in Wonderland film.
A selection of Tea Cup Stools are dotted around the house and gardens along with other 'props' such as large fibreglass toadstools and Alice herself. The Stools are used every weekend as part of a 'Mad Hatters Tea Party'.
